I have no idea how Elijah felt when he ask the widow of Zarephath for her last morsel of food (1 Kings 17:13), but I know how I felt when a young couple handed me a handful of coins at the conclusion of service one Sunday morning. I was scared. I was afraid their faith was misplaced. They were in Bible College and that was all the money they had in the world—just over $3 in coins. Their rent and utilities were due and their cupboards were bare. They gave all they had, every last penny, trusting the Lord to supernaturally supply their needs.

“And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”

— Philippians 4:19 (NIV 1984)

Lord Jesus, I am praying for those in financial need right now. Increase their faith and supply all their needs. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
