The Bible is unique. It is unlike any other book known to man. Many different writers, separated by hundreds of years, and living in diverse places, wrote it under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It contains sixty-six books—thirty-nine in the Old Testament and twenty-seven in the New Testament—yet it has a common theme, a thread that ties it all together. It reveals who God is and who He has created us to be. It shows the way of salvation and reveals God’s plan for our lives. Psalm 139 declares,
“You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.”

Lord Jesus, help us to hide Your Word in our hearts so You can speak to us. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
