From a human perspective Jesus’ world was falling apart as He made His way into Gethsemane that fateful Thursday night. Judas had already struck an agreement with the religious leaders to betray him. Before the night was over Peter would deny him and the rest of the disciples would desert him. He would be falsely accused and unjustly condemned by the Sanhedrin. The Roman Governor would have him flogged before sentencing him to be crucified. And finally, as He was dying, God would turn His back on Him. So, what did Jesus do when His world was falling apart?
The first thing He did was ask for help.
“ Then he said to them, ‘My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.’”

Lord, help us to follow Your example and ask for help. Amen.
