The resurrection of Jesus is a historical fact. The risen Christ was seen by more than 500 eyewitness (1 Cor. 15:5-8). It is a present reality. The transformed lives of multiplied millions of believers are proof of His living presence and His power to save. And the resurrection of Jesus is our future hope. As Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live even though he dies…” (Jn. 11:25). Job said it this way:
“But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives,
— Job 19:25-27 (NLT)
and he will stand upon the earth at last.
And after my body has decayed,
yet in my body I will see God!
I will see him for myself.
Yes, I will see him with my own eyes.”
Lord Jesus, on this Easter Sunday we celebrate Your glorious resurrection. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
