“Then Moses went back to the LORD and protested, ‘Why have you brought all this trouble on your own people, Lord? Ever since I came to Pharaoh, he has been even more brutal to your people. And you have done nothing to rescue them!’” That’s the question isn’t it. It’s the same question we face when things don’t work out the way we planned. In retrospect however it’s obvious. The Israelites never would have been willing to leave Egypt if Pharaoh hadn’t made their lives intolerable. We are seldom willing to risk change until the pain of our present situation forces us to change.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.”
— Isaiah 55:8 (KJV)
Lord, do whatever it takes to make us willing to change. Amen.
