Sometimes the Lord speaks to us through Scripture and/or through the prompting of the Holy Spirit. At other times He speaks to us through godly people. Sometimes His words come to us through to an anointed sermon or while reading a book filled with spiritual truth. At other times He may speak to us when we seek the advice of a counselor or a spiritual mentor. He may even speak to us through a friend during an ordinary conversation. I’m thinking of how the Lord spoke through Paul to encourage his shipmates in Acts 27.
“…I urge you to keep up your courage, because not one of you will be lost; only the ship will be destroyed.”

Lord Jesus, help us to recognize Your voice when You speak to us through other people. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
