As a young pastor I inadvertently offended several parishioners. After seeking the Lord’s guidance, I felt directed to accept responsibility for my mistakes, apologize, and wash their feet as a demonstration of my sincere desire to serve them. As I knelt before each man and began washing their feet the Lord was doing what only He can do. He was removing all the hurt and bitterness from their hearts and they graciously forgave me. If you’ve offended anyone, I encourage you to humble yourself and apologize.

Lord Jesus, help us to humble ourselves and take responsibility for our hurtful actions. Heal our relationships. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
