Do you know there are 100 “one another” commands in the New Testament? Things like: “Bear one another’s burdens.” “Love one another.” And “Forgive one another.” One third of the “one another” commands deal with unity in the church. Another third of these commands instruct Christians to love one another. About 15% focus on an attitude of humility and deference among believers. For the next several days we are going to focus on these commands. To get started let’s consider what James says.

“Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another…. Don’t grumble against one another, or you will be judged.”

— James 4:11 and 5:9 NIV

Lord Jesus, forgive us when we speak against other believers. Help us love one another in word and in deed. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
