Music is a powerful medium often bypassing the intellect to touch the heart. Having once touched the heart, however, it returns to capture the mind, infusing it with images that are nearly unforgettable. Years later it only takes a few bars of that nearly forgotten refrain to bring it all rushing back, nearly as real as the first time. That is what makes worship songs so powerful – they touch both the heart and mind and enable us to embrace God with both our emotions and our intellect.

Lord Jesus, thank You for music that touches me in the deepest part of my being, enabling me to worship You with my whole being. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
