David Hogg taught a small Sunday school class of young boys. Out from that class went a young man, David Livingston, to Africa to wear out his life in missionary service. Some years later another missionary came to one of the same villages where Livingston had been. He told of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. An old lady interrupted him, “That man has been here!” Think of it: a village church in Scotland; a consecrated Sunday school teacher; a little boy; and you get the footprints of Christ in and out of the muddy villages of Africa.
“You have been faithful with a few things;
— Matthew 25:23
I will put you in charge of many things.”
Lord Jesus, remind us that without David Hogg, there might not have been a David Livingston. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
