For more than twenty-five years a friend of mine has been performing random acts of kindness. Sometimes he buys a meal for someone who is eating alone and looks like they could use some encouragement. At other times he pays for the meal of the person in line behind him at a fast-food place. Each time he asks the attendant to give the recipient a “Random Kindness” card with a PO Box number on it. No name just a PO Box. The responses he has received have been truly remarkable.
“Use your freedom to serve one another in love… Love others as you love yourself.”
— Galatians 5:13-14 MSG
Lord Jesus, help us to realize that although we may never have an opportunity to do big things, we have opportunities every day to do small kindnesses. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
