You may find life overwhelming, not because of the past, but because you fear the future. Frightful projections and fearful imaginings are not only foolish, but they are often emotionally and spiritually debilitating. By an act of your will take every thought captive (2 Cor. 10:5) and choose to live one day at a time. God doesn’t provide grace for imaginary problems or strength for more than one day at a time. His grace is sufficient for today and it will be sufficient for tomorrow when tomorrow comes, so trust Him.

“Don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow.”

— Matthew 6:34 (MSG)

Lord Jesus, deliver us from “things that might happen.” As long as You are with us we will fear no evil. Amen.
