Some years ago, we were experiencing some financial difficulties in the ministry. We had prayed and prayed but nothing changed. Finally, I decided to share our situation with two of our board members. They were both well off and I knew that if they were aware of our situation, they would bail us out. Before I could contact them the Lord gently rebuked me. “Do you think they care more about you than I do?” Having been chastened I decided not to contact them but to just keep trusting the Lord.
“What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax…Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions.”
— Matthew 6:32-33 (MSG)
Lord Jesus, teach us to trust You. Remind us that You know what we have need of even before we ask. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
