By utilizing the discipline of journaling, I was finally able to understand why I was such an angry man. Some of my anger was the product of little hurts, carefully kept for years, which suddenly exploded in the most carnal ways. The issue that finally triggered my anger was usually a legitimate concern, but it was soon lost in the outpouring of my wrath. So what can we do? Realize some things aren’t worth confronting and let them go. Others must be dealt with in love, firmly but without anger. Unresolved issues inevitably produce anger, so they cannot be ignored.

“Better a patient man than a warrior, a man who controls his temper than one who takes a city.”

— Proverbs 16:32

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your sanctifying work in me. Thank You that I am no longer the angry man I used to be. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
