There are several similarities between a tornado and temptation. Both occur with little or no warning and both can be deadly. Meteorologist tell us that the formation of a tornado is most likely when moist air from the Gulf of Mexico collides with dry air flowing down the slopes of the Rockies. Inject a cold front from Canada, and the conditions are prime for a tornado. While temptation can strike at any time it is most likely to occur when the “atmospheric” conditions of your life are most conducive. In tomorrow’s devotion I will highlight some of the “atmospheric” conditions that make us most vulnerable.
“Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong.”
— 1 Corinthians 16:13 (NLT)
Lord, help us to be especially vigilant when the atmospheric conditions make us vulnerable to temptation. Amen.
