In the world’s economy, it is the movers and shakers who get things done. They take the bull by the horns and make things happen. In the economy of the Kingdom, it is the meek who move mountains. We do only what the Holy Spirit directs us to do. There is never a situation in which we can justify bending the rules or cutting corners to get the job done. Those who yield to the temptation to do things their own way court destruction, for it is only a small step from foolish independence to sinful disobedience.

Lord Jesus, protect us from our willful independence. Teach us to submit to Your will. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
