The four leprous men were realists (2 Kings 7:4). They knew how desperate their situation was. If they did nothing they would die. If they went into the city they would die. Their only hope was to go to the camp of the enemy—“If they spare us,” they said, “we live; if they kill us, then we die.” As far as they were concerned the risk of death at the hands of the enemy was better than sitting there and doing nothing.

I want to be one of those men who say, “Let me try and fail, if fail I must, but don’t let me sit here until I die!” What about you?

“The Lord answered him, ‘Go, I will hand them over to you.’”

— 2 Chronicles 14:10 (NIV 1984)

God almighty, give me ears to hear your voice and faith to act. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
