God could have easily provided for Elijah at the brook for the duration of the drought, but the widow and her son would have starved. Instead, God allowed the brook to dry up to force Elijah to go to Zarephath so He [God]could provide for the widow and her son. God used what the widow had—a handful of flour and a splash of oil—to feed the prophet and then God used the widow’s obedient faith to provide for her and her son.
“And it turned out [just]as he [Elijah] said—daily food for her and her family. The jar of meal didn’t run out and the bottle of oil didn’t become empty: GOD’s promise fulfilled to the letter, exactly as Elijah had delivered it!”

Do it again, Lord. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
