After my salvation nothing is more precious to me than my family. I’m eternally grateful to God for my wife, for my daughter and her husband, and for my two wonderful grandchildren. Still, when I think of family my heart turns naturally to mom and dad. When I was barely ten days old, they wrapped me in blankets and carried me to church, walking nearly three miles through the December cold, and I’ve been in church ever since. Thinking about it now, I’m nearly overwhelmed with gratefulness. I didn’t do anything to deserve my blessed life. It is all God’s doing and I will give Him thanks this day and every day.
“She is clothed with strength and dignity,
— Proverbs 31:25-28 (NLT)
and she laughs without fear of the future.
When she speaks, her words are wise,
and she gives instructions with kindness.
She carefully watches everything in her household
and suffers nothing from laziness.
Her children stand and bless her.
Her husband praises her.”
Father God, I thank you for giving me godly parents and a rich spiritual heritage. Help me to pass it on to my children and grandchildren. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
