I was just thirteen-years-old and kneeling between the first and second pew in the South Houston Assembly of God church when God called me to preach. There was no audible voice, no vision, but the Lord’s call could not have been clearer. When I arose from the place of prayer my destiny was set. I was a called man, set aside by God for the work of the ministry.

Through the ministry I have met some of the most remarkable people, had some of the most extraordinary experiences, and I can’t imagine any other life so richly fulfilling. Truly I can say, “Thank God for the ministry!”

“No one takes this honor upon himself; he must be called by God…”

— Hebrews 5:4 (NIV 1984)

Lord Jesus, thank you for allowing me to spend my life in ministry. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
