Faced with the seemingly insurmountable challenges of our day, you may be tempted to give up. You may be thinking there’s nothing you can do? You’re too young, or you’re too old, or you don’t have any money, or you don’t have any power or influence. Which brings us to the four most unlikely miracle workers in the bible—four men with leprosy sitting at the entrance of the city gate. “They said to each other, ‘Why stay here until we die?’ (2 Kings 7:3). They had nothing. Nothing, that is, except an indomitable spirit, an unwillingness to do nothing, an unwillingness to just sit there and die.

“They said to one another, “Let’s take our chances in the camp of Aram…If they receive us we’ll live, if they kill us we’ll die. We’ve got nothing to lose.””

— 2 Kings 7:4 (MSG)

Lord Jesus, give us the courage to risk failure and rejection rather than do nothing. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
