Elijah performed seven miracles during his life. Elisha, who asked for a double portion of his spirit, performed thirteen. Both divided the Jordon River and they each raised a dead child to life. The last miracle credited to Elisha was the most unusual. 2 Kings 13 says, “Elisha died and was buried…Once while some Israelites were burying a man…they threw the man’s body into Elisha’s tomb. When the body touched Elisha’s bones, the man came to life and stood up on his feet” (verses 20-21).
Elisha asked for a double portion of Elijah’s anointing, and he received it. What are you asking for?
“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”
— John 15:7 (NIV)
Lord Jesus, fulfill Your purposes in our lives. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
