If you want to live a God-centered life rather than a self-centered life make prayer a priority. That’s what Jesus did. As a consequence, His passion was to “…do the will of Him who sent [Him] and to finish His work” (John 4:34). The words He spoke were the Father’s words (see John 12:49). Of His ministry He testified, “…the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does the Son also does” (John 5:19). And because He was God-centered rather than self-centered He was able to overcome every temptation and complete His mission.
“My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.”
— John 4:14 (NIV 1984)
Lord Jesus help us to live God-centered lives rather than self-centered lives. Amen.
