What makes prosperity and power so difficult to address is because God promises to bless and empower His people. However, at least two things distinguish His blessing from the power-brokering materialism of the world. First, it is a consequence, rather than a goal. Spiritually mature believers seek first the Kingdom of God. These other things (i.e., wealth and power) are never pursued. Second, mature believers see themselves as stewards, not owners. All wealth and power belong to the Father. As believers we are simply managing them, that is using them for Kingdom good.

“You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion….”

— 2 Corinthians 9:11 (NIV 1984)

Lord Jesus help us to seek only the Kingdom of God, knowing all these other things will be given to us. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
