In prayer, Jesus experienced fellowship with the Father that nourished His soul. He received guidance to direct Him in His life’s work and anointing to accomplish His ministry. It was the single most important discipline of His earthly existence and the source of His strength. If prayer was critical to the life and ministry of our Lord – and obviously it was – how much more critical is it for those of us who would be Christ followers today?

“Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.”

— Luke 18:1

Lord Jesus, forgive us when we get too busy to pray. Slow us down and call us into a quiet place where we can fellowship with You. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
