Life is hectic and our best intentions frequently fall prey to a relentless busyness. Sadly, one of the first things to go for many of us is our devotional life. As a result, we feel like a spiritual failure. We love the Lord, so we vow to do better, but our guilt lingers and like a low-grade fever, it drains our life of its vitality. Maybe the answer is to live conscious of God each moment, no matter how busy we are.
“Turn my eyes away from worthless things;
— Psalm 119:37 (NIV)
preserve my life according to your word.”
Lord Jesus, let our first thought each morning be of You and our last thought each night. May we be ever conscious of Your presence. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
