Someone has said, “Justice is getting what you deserve. Mercy is not getting what you deserve. And grace is getting what you don’t deserve and could never earn.” We all deserve God’s justice but instead He showers us with mercy. Psalm 103 says, “He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us” (verses 10-12). That, my dear friends, is mercy!
“Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed,

for his compassions never fail.”
Because of Your great love O’ Lord have mercy upon us. Amen.
