Let tragedy strike, and the enemy immediately tempts us to blame God. He tells us God is either cruel or incompetent. Either God cares but He is powerless to do anything about our situation, or He has the power but He just doesn’t care. In times like those, we dare not trust our emotions. They will deceive us. We must trust only in the truth of God’s Word. And the Bible tells us that God is trustworthy, that He is faithful, and His goodness endures to all generations.

Lord Jesus, when trouble strikes, help us to trust Your Word and not our emotions. Remind us to hide Your Word in our hearts today and everyday so we will be prepared when trouble comes. In Your holy name we pray, amen.
