A Chinese Christian once said, “Reading the Bible is like eating fish – you have to watch out for the bones.’ When you come to something you do not understand, set it aside, like a fish bone, and go on. You would not throw out the whole fish because of a few bones, so do not throw out the Bible just because you cannot understand it all.
“I have hidden your word in my heart
— Psalm 119:11
that I might not sin against you.”
Lord, forgive us for all the times we have allowed the distractions of life to cause us to neglect Your Word. Give us the discipline to live in Your Word. Help us to memorize it, to hide it in our heart that we might not sin against You. Amen.
