When pain and disappointment tempt us to give up we have a choice. We can make a god out of our pain and anger, but if we do it will destroy us. Or if we can resist the temptation to blame God, we will discover that He is very near, even when we were sure He was nowhere to be found. And in His own perfect time, He will turn our mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11) and restore the joy of our salvation (Psalm 51:12).

Lord Jesus, help us to trust You even when it seems our world is crumbling around us. By faith we give You praise. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
