Recently, I was asked why we invite Jesus to be present in our services. “Hasn’t He promised to be in your midst any time two or three of you gather in His name?” I responded by explaining that the abiding presence of the Lord is always present (Matthew 28:20), but we are praying for His manifest presence (Acts 16:22-26). His abiding presence sustains us until His manifest presence delivers us!

Lord Jesus, we thank You for the promise of Your presence. Now manifest Your power that we may speak the word of God boldly. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
