After the church where I was serving was robbed, we realized we had been negligent in securing the church facilities. The police found no sign of a forced entry, but they did find several doors unlocked. They concluded that it was either an inside job or we were careless when it came to locking the building. As I considered our situation, I realized it was a prophetic picture of our spiritual lives. Many of us have unlocked doors that allow the thief to ravish our lives and plunder our families. Some of the more obvious ones are prayerlessness, disobedience, lust, inappropriate relationships, and hurts.

Lord help us to examine our lives to make sure we have left no door unlocked. Amen.
