Take an honest look at yourself. Have you allowed the need to be right to damage your relationships with family and/or friends? If you have, ask God to change your heart. Only He can change the human heart, but He seldom does so by waving the proverbial magic wand. In my experience, He gives me the desire to change and the strength to deliberately lay down my need to be right. Again and again, I have learned to say, “You may be right.” As I practice this deliberant act of humility, God is changing my heart. Remember your relationship is more important than being right.
Whoever heeds life-giving correction will be at home among the wise.
— Proverbs 15:31 (NIV)
Lord Jesus do not let my need to be right make me deaf to life-giving correction. Amen.
