Larry Osborne writes. “Smart people make foolish decisions when they don’t have accurate facts…It forces them to rely on past experiences, hearsay, and assumptions.”

Wow!

That makes me reconsider some of my past decisions, especially those that didn’t work out so well. To my chagrin, I discovered that I had relied on past experiences and assumptions at least to some degree. Thankfully those negative experiences don’t have to be wasted. If I will analyze them, carefully noting where I went wrong, I will make wiser decisions next time.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding.”

— Proverbs 3:5 (NIV)

Lord Jesus, teach us to trust You and not our own understanding. In Your holy name we pray, amen.
