Having once been lost in a smothering fog while fishing in the Gulf of Alaska, I know the importance of a reliable compass. Therefore, I choose to trust God’s Word at all times, especially when disappointment and loss make it impossible for me to understand His ways. And like an unerring compass, His Word guides me safely through the fog of my pain and confusion.

Lord Jesus, help us to memorize Your Word and always hide it in our hearts against the day when disappointment and despair tempt us to lose our way. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
