Daniel and his peers were reared in the very worst of times. Their nation was apostate. Jerusalem, their capital city lay in ruins, as did their temple, and they were exiles in a heathen country. Yet they became the very best of men. Men of unimpeachable character, moral strength and spiritual integrity! Even in those desperate times God had a righteous remnant and under the very worst of conditions He produced the very best of men.
