Sometimes God has to allow us to be backed into a corner before we will truly rely on Him. At least that’s true in my case. Only when I am brought face-to-face with my limitations do I turn to Him. When I find myself backed into a corner, I surrender to the Lord on a deeper level than ever before. I make peace with my pain and disappointment, even my embarrassment. I ask the Lord to use it as an instrument to shape me, to make me the person He has called me to be.
“My suffering was good for me,
— Psalm 119:71(NLT)
for it taught me to pay attention to your decrees.”
Father God, we surrender our dreams. Being conformed to the image of Your dear Son is far more important any personal ambition. Do Your holy work in us. In Jesus’s name we pray, amen.
