Do you sometimes feel that your life is out of control, that God is conspicuously absent, that you have been left alone to figure things out for yourself? God has not abandoned you, even if it seems He has. Experience has shown me that His great faithfulness is best seen in retrospect. It is only as we look back over our lives that we realize God was ever-present, ever faithful.

Lord Jesus, forgive us for the times we doubt Your trustworthiness. In the heat of the moment, we are tempted to look at our circumstances rather than Your promises. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
