Scripture makes it clear that waiting is often part of God’s plan. It would serve us well to remember that Joseph had to wait at least thirteen years before his God-given dreams came to pass. David had to wait twenty-two years after Samuel anointed him king before he ascended to the throne. Saul was saved and called to preach in Acts 9, but it was at least fourteen years before he began his ministry. If we will allow Him to do so, God will use the long wait to prepare us for the responsibilities of the leadership that He has planned for us.
“And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.”
— Hebrews 6:15 (NIV)
Father God, don’t let us lose heart while we wait for the fulfillment of Your promise. In the name of Jesus we pray, men.
