It would be devastating to see ourselves as we truly are were it not for the grace of God that shows us what we are destined to be. Even as we cringe at our unabashed carnality, and our shameless self-interest, He gives us a glimpse of what we can be in Christ. As we face the truth about ourselves, He sets us free to become the person He has called us to be.

Lord, enable us to see ourselves as we truly are, but don’t stop there. Show us the finished product, the person we are becoming as You do Your holy work in us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
