By living a sinless life, Jesus fully satisfied the holy demands of a righteous God, thus making it possible for God to accept us. Through His sacrificial death, Jesus suffered the full penalty for our sins, thus satisfying the just demands of a holy God, and making it possible for God to forgive our sins without violating His character. Since both His justice and His righteous requirements have been satisfied, God is now free to manifest His love and mercy toward us.
