There is often a lengthy wait between a promise given and a promise fulfilled. For instance, Abraham was 85 years old when God promised him a son, but Isaac wasn’t born until he was 100 years old. Joseph was just a teen-ager, seventeen years old, when he dreamed he would rule over his siblings, but thirteen long years would pass before his dreams were fulfilled. David was just a boy when Samuel anointed him King, but he didn’t ascend to the throne until he was thirty years old. Why do I point this out? To remind us that a promise delayed is not a promise denied.
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
— Galatians 6:9 (KJV)
Lord help our faith remain strong until we see the fulfillment of Your promises. Amen.
