Those who pass the test of praise usually do so because they refuse to take themselves or their achievements too seriously. They do not view success as a plum to be picked, but as a responsibility to be fulfilled. Like Daniel of old they “…are neither corrupt nor negligent” (Daniel 6:4). And even their enemies are forced to conclude: “…‘We will never find any basis for charges against this man…’” (Daniel 6:5).

Lord Jesus, help me to realize that whatever praise comes my way is to be passed on to You for only You are truly worthy of praise. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
