I am deeply grieved by what is happening in our country. The corona pandemic put millions of people out of work. Over 100,000 died in the United States alone. To make matters worse peaceful protests over the brutal murder of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer have turned violent in some cities with riots, fires and looting. Protestors are demanding the defunding and/or the dismantling of the Police. And 2020 is shaping up to be the most acrimonious Presidential election in our nation’s history. So what can we do? I would like to suggest four things:
1) Repent.
2) Intercede.
3) Evangelize.
4) Reform.
“If my people…will humble themselves and pray…and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
— 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)
Lord Jesus, You are our only hope. Hear our cry. Forgive our sins and heal our land. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
