Years ago, I opened the door to Mom’s room and found her kneeling in prayer. Her face was full of feeling as she poured out her heart to the Lord she so dearly loved. The intensity of her intercession humbled me, and I listened in awe as she bombarded heaven on behalf of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Who, I wondered, will pray for us when she is gone?
“Her children arise and call her blessed…Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.”
— Proverbs 31:28, 31
Lord Jesus, I thank You for godly mothers whose prayers have shaped their children and protected them. Bless them Lord and give them their reward. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
