The disciplines that enable us to maintain our spiritual vitality, our emotional wholeness and our physical strength include daily prayer, Scripture reading, fasting, meditation, solitude, and corporate worship. An equally important, but less recognized discipline is the rhythm of life – that delicate balance between work, rest, worship, and play. Without these spiritual disciplines life’s richness hangs by a slender thread. Let me ask you a question, “Are you practicing the rhythm of life?”

“For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.”

Lord Jesus, grant us physical strength, emotional wholeness, and spiritual vitality. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
