God’s highest purpose is to conform us to the image of Christ (see Romans 8:29) and that’s no little task. Fifty percent of our personality is genetic. The fall of Adam and his sin has tainted us all. As the apostle said, “There is none righteous, no, not one” (Romans 3:10 NKJV). To make things even more difficult psychologists tell us that by the age of thirty our personality is set in plaster. So, can God change us?

As unlikely as it may seem the answer is a resounding “Yes!” What good intentions cannot do. What counseling cannot do. What behavior modification cannot do; God does!

“Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”

— 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)

Lord, superimpose Your mind upon ours, make our nature and personality unmistakably like Yours. Amen.
