Think what a wonderful life we would have if God’s will was truly done on earth as it is in heaven. Every hurtful thing on earth would be done away with. There would be no more sin—no lying, no cheating, no stealing, no murder, no exploiting of others, no abuse of power, no adultery, no war, no evil, no death! Every hurtful and destructive thing done on earth is done in violation of God’s holy will. The apostle writes:
“Since they didn’t bother to acknowledge God, God quit bothering them and let them run loose. And then all hell broke loose: rampant evil, grabbing and grasping, vicious backstabbing. They made life hell on earth with their envy, wanton killing, bickering, and cheating. They keep inventing new ways of wrecking lives.”

Father God, deliver us from our destructive self-will. May Your will be done in us. Amen.
