As we focus on the names of God several aspects of His nature are revealed. For instance, Genesis 21:33 describes Him as the everlasting God. According to Genesis 17:1 He is the Almighty God. Exodus 20:3-5 calls Him a jealous God. As to His Holiness, He is a consuming fire (Deut. 4:24), but He is also a merciful God (Deut. 4:31). According to Deuteronomy 7:9 He is a faithful God. Nehemiah describes Him as a great and mighty God (Neh. 1:5) while Joshua calls Him the living God (Jos. 3:10) and Jonah says he is a gracious God (Jonah 4:2).

Father God forgive us. Our knowledge of who You are is too limited. Help us to know You in all Your glory that we might worship You as we should. Amen.
