Throughout my years of ministry, I have faced several situations that were beyond my expertise. Like Solomon of old I prayed, “‘Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people…’” (2 Chronicles 1:10). Most often God’s wisdom comes when I least expect it. Sometimes it comes as my first thought upon awaking in the morning, full blown and complete. At other times it comes to me while I am showering or when I am driving. I can only conclude that my mind needs to be at rest before I can receive His wisdom.
“Teach me your ways, O LORD,
— Psalm 86:11 (NLT)
that I may live according to your truth!”
Lord Jesus, help me not to obsess about things but to trust Your wisdom. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
